An initial consultation (confidential, of course) helps us understand the details of your situation, answers your questions and explains the court process so you can make a sound decision on your next step.

Plan on spending one to two hours with one of our attorneys. We are a fee-based practice, and the cost of an initial consultation is $200 or $275 per hour depending on the attorney. When we agree to go forward, we will estimate a retainer fee, ranging from $3500 to $5,000, based on the complexity of your case.

By law, we cannot represent both husband and wife in a divorce or other action, therefore we must do a conflict check on our system.  If there are no conflicts we can proceed with scheduling.  If a conflict is found, you will need to seek other counsel.

Our practice area covers Washtenaw, Livingston, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Lenawee Counties.

We ask that you bring the following information to the consultation.

• A list of your assets and debts
• Current salary information for you and your spouse
• All documents pertaining to your case if you have already filed a court case or your case is pending
• 2 years of tax returns
