Monika Holzer Sacks

Monika Holzer SacksMonika Holzer Sacks has more than 28 years of experience working with families and individuals in all areas of family law and divorce mediation. She is a trained divorce mediator and arbitrates divorces. She is also certified in Collaborative Law.

Monika has demonstrated that she can be tough yet compassionate in resolving clients' problems. She works with her clients to alleviate the stress that accompanies significant changes in their lives without adding unnecessarily to it. Monika actively works to empower her clients.

A frequent lecturer on issues related to family law, including domestic violence, mediation, Collaborative Law and arbitration Monika has written Divorce Cases in Michigan: A Systems Approach for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

She is past president of the Washtenaw County Bar Association (WCBA) and a past chair of the WCBA Family Law Section. Monika has served on the State Bar Representative Assembly and on the Character and Fitness Committee and Attorney Discipline Board. She is a fellow of the State Bar Foundation and of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Monika is also on the Family Law Advisory Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Monika is a past president of the Rotary Club of Ypsilanti and is a Paul Harris Fellow. In 1992, she received the Athena Award from the Ypsilanti Area Chamber Women's Council for professional excellence and exemplary community service. In 1995, the Washtenaw County Bar Association presented her with its Professionalism and Civility in the Law Award. She is the past president of the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce Board and was presented the 1999 Volunteer of the Year Award. Monika also served on the Community Wide Planning Committee for the Saline Area. Ann Arbor North Rotary named her the Lawyer of the Year in 2000.
